Dancer/Director, born in Miami Florida, began her early training with Edmundo Ronquillo of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba. She later continued her studies at the New World School of the Arts, where she received a BFA with honors. Ms. Bulnes has received scholarships to American Ballet Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Martha Graham School, and received a Merit Award at the NFAA “ARTS” Competition. While at New World, Jacqueline was a featured dancer in a series of short dance films titled “Scriptures” Directed by Jennifer Sims, which had the honor of showing at the Memento Vivere Festival (Italy and Romania 2009), the Festival VideoDanzaBa (Buenos Aires, Argentina 2010), the Stratford Fringe Film Festival (England 2010), the Court-BOUILLON Film Festival (France 2010) and the NYC Short Film Festival (New York City 2010). Jacqueline has danced as a Soloist with Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Martha Graham Dance Company where she performed Leading Roles in Sketches from Chronicle, Diversion of Angels, Satyric Festival Song, Clytemnestra, and El Penitente, among others. In 2012, Jacqueline founded the Panini 2 Life project, a Physical Theatre project in Rome- Italy, where she choreographed LOSTalgia, during a Residency with “InTeatro Polverigi”- Italy, which premiered at “Festival Scintille” ASTI Teatro- Italy 2013. As a film Director, she directed the short dance film In 2 Us– for the “Breaking 8” Film Festival- Italy, as well as for the “ScreenDance” Film Festival in Miami, Florida (USA). In the music video genre: Jacqueline directed, choreographed and produced the I’m not Through music video for the popular American band “OK GO” promoted by Saatchi and Saatchi- 2013; she later choreographed Brutal Love for the “Green Day” Music Video challenge, which was recognized as one of the top five Finalists within the Contest. Ms. Bulnes was movement director for the productions “Finis Terrae” and “Passio Hominis”, directed by Antonio Calenda. Currently, Jacqueline is directing the Dance theatre company I TwisTinkers in Rome, where she has created Moon Motel for the “Torino Fringe Festival”- Italy, “Labyrinth Tales” for Quirinetta Theatre (Italy), “I Pazzi” for the ‘Mistero della Mente’ Festival (Italy) and “Don’t walk Walk” and “In Between Uncertainty” for the Cupar Arts Festival 2013/16 (Scotland). In recent film, Jacqueline was the lead Actress in “Proserpina”, directed by Federico Tocchella as well as lead Actress/Dancer in Academy Award Winner Bill Laurence’s Music video “After Sun”. In the Summer’s of 2016/ 2017, she was chosen by Robert Cohan as a Choreographer during the “Cohan Collective” Residency in London. While in London, Jacqueline had the honor of re-staging both Martha Graham’s “Panorama” and Jose Limon’s “A Choreographic Offering” at Trinity Laban in London, UK (’17 & ’18). Most recently, she was invited as Artist in Residence at both Chez Bushwick in NY- sponsored by the Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation- & the Danish National Academy of Music in Esbjerg, Denmark, where she created her most recent work “The GraVity Between”. Jacqueline currently performs as a Soloist with the Limon Dance Company (NY).
